Kesem at the University of Georgia Kesem is a nationwide community supporting children through and beyond a parent's cancer diagnosis. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast.

Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Kesem at the University of Georg

ia was founded in 2011 and supports children in the Athens community by providing Camp Kesem, a free week-long summer camp experience, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Our chapter is operated by 100 student volunteers and serves 250 campers ages 6-18 per year. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

It’s WILD OUT WEDNESDAY 🤘

Some of our favorite camp memories are a little chaotic, loud, and messy…or, for lack of a better word: wild.

From dance breaks and silly games to the moments that make absolutely no sense but somehow become the best memories, camp is a place where kids can let loose, have fun, and just be themselves.
