Next up...we have some team members from Gaines Elementary School dressed out for ! This team knows how to get the work done! They are one of the largest elementary teams and serve nearly every student every day!

So far this year, they are prepared and served over 18,000 breakfast meals and 21,000 lunch meals as well as over 3,000 after-school snacks!

Another team showed up in PINK today as part of ! This group of school nutrition superheroes is from Judia Jackson Harris Elementary School, and they know how to fuel their kids for learning!

So far this school year, they have prepared & served more than 12,000 breakfasts, 17,000 lunches, and 2,000 after-school snacks! Those are some great numbers for this stage of the school year!

Our team of school nutrition superstars are showing out in their PINK today! We already know they show up since they are some of the first to arrive each day to make sure the students at Clarke Middle School are fueled and ready to learn!

Since the first day of school, this team has prepared and served over 11,000 breakfast meals, 26,000 lunch meals, and 900 snacks!

The team from Whitehead Road Elementary School also looks good in PINK! These school nutrition superheroes have been working hard this school year, and they have already prepared and served more than 13,000 breakfast meals, 22,000 lunch meals, and 5,000 after-school snacks! Those are some impressive numbers!

Next up...we have some team members from Clarke Central High School dressed out for ! This team knows how to get the work done! They are the largest team and serve the most meals each year!

So far this year, they are prepared and served over 19,000 breakfast meals and 50,000 lunch meals! Nothing makes them happier to see their GLADS' smiling faces in the serving line.

Our team of school nutrition superstars are showing out in their PINK today! We already know they show up! They are some of the first to arrive each day to make sure the students at Coile Middle School are fueled and ready to learn!

Since the first day of school, this team has prepared and served over 14,000 breakfast meals, 24,000 lunch meals, and 600 snacks!

That's right! This week we are celebrating National School Lunch Week!

So far this school year, our lunch participation rates are holding steady.

--Elementary ~86.60%
--Middle ~87.30%
--High ~59.60%

This week is National School Lunch Week, and CCSD joins other districts across the nation in recognizing the importance of preparing nutritious meals that help students succeed in the classroom. Thank you to men and women across our schools who keep our students Fueled and Thriving!

Flashback to the September board meeting where Mrs. Sarah Thomas was recognized as the CCSD Employee of the Month! A teacher at Winterville Elementary Beehive recommended her for the award stating that "Mrs. Sarah Thomas is a lunch lady with so much heart!"

We are so lucky to have Ms. Sarah serving our students with a smile each and every day! We agree that she is a lunch lady with so much 💙!

Our Cedar Shoals High School school nutrition professionals worked with Chef John Huff from the Georgia School Nutrition Program for three days in September! The team collaborated to create new recipes, such as a Cuban sandwich (pictured), Roasted Broccoli with house seasoning (pictured), and spiced apple and plum fruit salad (not pictured).
