Ann Grover joined Chapter DD in 1964. That means she became one of our Golden Girls in 2014 when she hit 50 years of membership! She passed away on April 19, 2026, and saying goodbye to a sister is always hard. She was vibrant, a wonderful hostess, and the epitome of what it means to be a P.E.O. Rest in peace, dear Ann. You’ll be missed.

Virginia Gamertsfelder was the last remaining charter member of Chapter DD. On Tuesday, February 10th, she passed away peacefully at her home, and she will be missed. She began her journey with P.E.O. in 1954 when initiated in Chapter G - Athens. In 1960, she and several other women branched off and organized Chapter DD - Athens. She is pictured here with her daughter, April, who is also a Chapter DD sister.

Our February meeting was a busy one!

Welcome to Laura Carney and Lori Sauer who were initiated. We are going to enjoy getting to know them better.

Congratulations to Roxann Greenlee who received her 15 year milestone award. She is definitely one of our brightest stars!

Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Soozan Palsa who is making a move to the Pittsburgh area. We will miss her so very much!

Finally, we had a wonderful presentation by Betsy Anderson from Serenity Grove, a woman’s recovery house located in Athens. Such wonderful work they do there.
