A big thank-you to the sponsors, golfers and volunteers who helped make Monday’s Athens Rotary Club Golf Tournament such a huge success!

And an EXTRA BIG THANKS to our 2026 tournament co-chairs, John Trent and Steve Moore, and special thanks to their committee: Angela Wagoneer, Chris Russell, Holly Blong, Dr. Lemmon, Holly Morgan and Tom Gardner. Your time, hard work and teamwork made it all possible.

To our sponsors and golfers, thank you for your generosity and for supporting Rotary’s work in our community. A great day on the course means even more when it helps us serve others!

Reminder to our Rotarians: There is no meeting today in recognition of this group’s hard work on Monday. See you at next week's Third Thursday.

Service Above Self in action! A week ago, some of our awesome Athens Rotarians rolled up their sleeves to help pack meals that will provide much-needed food to hungry families in developing countries.

A big thank you to Adam Piper and his kids, Gail and Tom Gardner, Holly Blong, and all the other helping hands who gave their time to make a difference.

This is what Rotary is all about: serving others, working together and making an impact far beyond our own community.

Rotarians: If you're able to help stuff some Golf Goody Bags today after our noon meeting, it'd be greatly appreciated.

More hands = Done Quicker.

Thanks in advance for your help.

A few weeks ago, the Rotary Club of Athens welcomed Athens Fire Chief Burnside, who shared his background, vision for the Athens Fire Department, and important fire and emergency safety information. We appreciated learning more about the department’s many responsibilities and the dedicated firefighters who serve our community.

We also congratulate fellow Rotarian Shauna Brucker, who was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by longtime Rotarian Charlie Tidmore. This special recognition honors Shauna’s commitment to Rotary’s mission of service and making a difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations, Shauna, and thank you to Chief Burnside for joining us!

We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday at noon at the Athens Country Club as we hear from one of our local great nonprofit organizations, the Athens Thrift Store, which continues to give hundreds of thousands back to our community year after year.

Wishing all Athens Independent School District teachers and staff (and students) a FANTASTIC Year at school! We were happy to host the district's new teachers at a luncheon a few weeks ago.

Not pictured, but best to the new teachers also at Athens Christian Preparatory Academy and St Edward Academy, when they begin soon!
