"My best friend brought this over to us after we had our first baby and it's the thing I make for meal trains ever since. It freezes very well so I often double it and keep one (or two!) for us. Everyone I've ever brought it to has loved it too."

October is National Family History Month!

What perfect timing...our FREE Genealogy Classes have just started again! It's not too late to join us Tuesday, October 2nd and Tuesday the 16th at 6:30pm or if mornings are better, Wednesday, October 3rd and Wednesday the17th at 11:30am. Our classes are at the beautiful Athens-Limestone County Public Library in their Technology Center.

"We all have a history, and that history extends far back beyond ourselves. Every ancestor we have has left their mark on us and has been the formation of tradition and culture within our lives. There is a certain comfort in knowing where we came from, and Family History Month encourages us to delve into the people who came together to make us who we are today. But our genealogy is even more important than just knowing our origins!

Our family histories have been important since far into pre-history, and have only grown in importance in the years since. Our family history tells us who we are, and where we’re from, and what great line of ancestors we all come from."

Regardless, whether you're new to genealogy or are a more seasoned researcher, we welcome you and look forward to helping you!

What we call a “marriage record” may actually refer to a number of different documents created during the marriage process. Intentions (similar to modern-day wedding announcements), marriage bonds, marriage applications and licenses, and consent papers are some examples. For more information on the types of documents in the trail of marriage records, see http://bit.ly/2BVpZ79.
