🏀 ACCLS Youth Basketball registration opens tomorrow!

Registration for ACC residents opens Saturday, October 3 at 9:00 a.m.

We have divisions for boys and girls ages 5–14, with weekday practices beginning in November and games running December through February.

💰 $65 ACC residents | $97.50 non-residents

Hey, Heard Park family and friends!

We’re getting some exciting work done around the park! Improvements are being made to portions of the park, parking lot, and sidewalks.

While construction is underway, the parking area closest to the building and the front entrance will not be accessible. The paved path to Carver Drive is also closed at this time.

Parking:
Please use the bottom portion of the parking lot near the basketball area or the upper parking area near the Health Department.

Building Entrance:
All visitors should enter through the back door until further notice.

If you need assistance accessing the building, please call (706) 613-3593, and a staff member will be happy to assist you.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these improvements are being completed. We’re excited about what’s coming to Heard Park!

Heard Park is excited to announce the selection of Chrysandrea “Nina” Billups as the Program and Facility Supervisor! Nina has been an essential force in shaping creative, high‑impact programs with Leisure Services since 2014. A proud Athenian and graduate of Cedar Shoals High School, Nina brings both hometown passion and professional expertise to her work. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Georgia Gwinnett College. Her passion for community and love of people of all ages is always on display. Stay tuned for the fun and exciting programs Heard Park will be doing under her leadership in the very near future.

🎉 That's a wrap on Summer Camp 2026! ☀️💙

On Friday, we celebrated the end of an incredible 8-week summer filled with fun, friendships, and unforgettable memories!

This summer, campers enjoyed field trips, field day, water day, Kona Ice, a flag football game against Lay Park and friendly pop-in visits from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. We were also grateful to partner with the Aaron Heard Resource Center, Athens Tutorial Program, Gaines Elementary, and Hilsman Elementary to provide engaging educational experiences.

A special thank you to our amazing camp counselors for your hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication. You made a positive impact on every camper and helped create a summer full of unforgettable memories!

Thank you to our campers, families, volunteers, and community partners for making Summer Camp 2026 such a success. We hope everyone has a wonderful school year, and we look forward to seeing you at future programs at Heard Park!

Hello Heard Park friends and family!

The final school bell has rung, the classrooms are quiet, and now it’s time for summer fun at Heard Park! Before Summer Day Camp officially begins, let’s take a look back at some of the fun moments, smiling faces, and memories made during our last few days of afterschool.

From laughter in the halls to fun with friends, we ended the school year making memories we’ll never forget. Now we’re getting ready for a summer full of exciting activities, games, adventures, creativity, and unforgettable moments.

Afterschool Rewind at Heard Park

The Heard Park Afterschool crew, with staff, enjoyed a fun field trip on the Walker Park trail with Allison and Heather. They walked the trail, learned fun facts about trees and nature, and played bingo for prizes along the way.
