The UGA Student Food Pantry The UGA Student Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization open to ALL students (undergraduate and graduate) at the university with a student ID

The Pantry was established in 2011 so that students have the ability to stop by and get food for lunch, or even for the whole week. It is completely confidential, and is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am-2pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 10am - 12pm. There is a significant, often unnoticed need at UGA. After interviewing Katherine Ingerson, a UGA Food Services Nutritionalist, Pantry man

agement were made aware that parents and students at orientation are concerned with the finances of the university meal plan. Ingerson said she has also witnessed students having to get off the meal plan due to financial hardships

Many students have to pay for the meal plan themselves. For the 7-day one semester plan, it is $3,688. The Pantry is always looking for donations! Here are the most needed items. Keep in mind that nutritious and non-perishable foods are best. Food Suggestions:
-Applesauce
-Dried Fruit
-Rice (preferably brown)
-Pasta (Wheat, whole grain, and white)
-Barley
-Any type of grain
-Nuts
-Beans, dried or canned
-Peanut Butter
-Tuna Fish
-Canned Chicken or Ham
-Soups (tomato, vegetable, chicken noodle, black bean)
-Oatmeal
-Grits
-Granola Bars
-Cereal
-Crackers (whole grain)
