2026 Sexual Assault Awareness month starts next month!

25 Years Stronger: Looking Back, Moving Forward*****
For 25 years, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) has aimed to unite survivors, advocates, and communities in the shared commitment to end sexual assault, abuse, and harassment. NSVRC recognizes this milestone as both a celebration of progress and a call to keep moving forward.

This year's theme, “25 Years Stronger: Looking Back, Moving Forward,” honors the movement's history and growth while reaffirming our commitment to a safer future for all.

We had the pleasure in participating in the Red Sand Project hosted by WillowBend Farms Inc . The red sand is poured into the cracks to symbolize how we will not let survivors of human trafficking fall through the cracks. Thank you Full Circle for holding this event at your facility!

Even though Sexual Assault Awareness Month is coming to an end, raising awareness of sexual assault does not. We want to thank the House of Representative Mark Cochran for taking the time to have this SAAM Proclamation signed by the speaker of the House of Representatives, Cameron Sexton, to represent the city of Athens and The Hope Center. As we come together as a community, we can prevent sexual abuse, harassment, and assault.

Today, April 24th, we celebrate Denim Day! Denim Day began after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a r**e conviction because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped the person who r**ed her remove them, implying consent. On Denim Day we wear jeans to stand with survivors of sexual assault because clothing is not someone's consent.
