Today, we honor the peaceful pro-democracy protestors who bravely stood in Tiananmen Square in 1989. We remember those who lost their lives in the fight for freedom and justice.

Their courage in the face of oppression reminds us of the universal struggle for human rights. We stand in solidarity with those who still fight for democracy in China, and for all those around the world who yearn for freedom.

We call for truth, accountability, and the respect of fundamental freedoms for all.

Stand in Solidarity with LGBTQ+ Communities This

Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, we stand in unwavering solidarity with LGBTQ+ communities around the globe. ️️⚧️

Everyone deserves to live a life free from discrimination and violence, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Yet, LGBTQ+ people face persecution and human rights abuses far too often.

We call for an end to these injustices. We urge for:
- Comprehensive legal protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
- Recognition of the unique challenges faced by trans and gender-diverse individuals.
- An environment where LGBTQ+ people can live authentically and openly, free from fear.

Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable world for all.

Today, on International Day of Families, we celebrate the love, support, and diversity of families around the world.

But let's remember: families come in all shapes and sizes, and every family deserves equal rights and protections. ️‍This includes:
- LGBTQ+ families: All families deserve the right to exist, marry, and raise children without discrimination.
- Refugee and migrant families: Families fleeing violence and persecution deserve safe haven and the chance to rebuild their lives together.
- Families living in poverty: All families deserve access to essential resources like food, shelter, healthcare, and education.

This , let's advocate for:
1) Inclusive policies that recognize and support all family structures.
2) Resources and protections for vulnerable families facing hardship.
3) An end to discrimination based on family composition or origin.

Together, we can build a world where every family feels safe, valued, and empowered.

On , we celebrate journalists who shine a light on injustice, hold power accountable, and give voice to the voiceless. They are the watchdogs of our societies, exposing human rights abuses, corruption, and the untold stories that need to be heard.

A free press is not just a right, it's a necessity for a healthy democracy and the protection of human rights. It allows citizens to be informed, engaged, and empowered to hold their governments accountable.

We stand with journalists worldwide who risk their safety to bring us the truth, often in the face of harassment, intimidation, and violence.

We demand their freedom to report without fear or censorship, because in a world with increasing attacks on truth and democracy, a free press is more important than ever.

🔍 Did you know about Article 40 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child?

Every child deserves to be heard, and no voice should be silenced. The ability to speak up and express oneself is a fundamental right that every child possesses. In a courtroom, children should be given the chance to share their thoughts and feelings, and their views should be considered by the judge.

It's vital that we remember that children aren't just passive bystanders, but active participants who hold their own rights. Imagine a child who's been neglected, mistreated, or abused, and is now seeking justice. The experience can be traumatic and overwhelming, but allowing them to speak their truth can be cathartic and empowering.

By acknowledging their thoughts and feelings, we can help them regain some of the control and dignity that they may have lost. Every child deserves to be treated fairly, and this means giving them a platform to be heard.

Let us all work together to ensure that all children receive this right.

Did you know? Article 39 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child says all children who have been hurt, neglected, abused, or affected by war have the right to recover!

This means governments need to provide support to help children:
- Heal physically and emotionally
- Feel safe and respected
- Get back to school and activities they love

Let's work together to make sure all children have the chance to heal and reach their full potential!

Let's celebrate Article 38 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child!

This important article protects children during armed conflict. Here's why it's so awesome:
1) Keeps children out of war: Children are NOT soldiers! Article 38 works to prevent children under 15 from being directly involved in fighting.
2) Protects ALL children in conflict: Even during war, children deserve care and safety. This article calls on countries to take steps to protect ALL children affected by armed conflict.
3) Prioritizes older teens: If someone between 15-18 joins the military, Article 38 says countries should prioritize recruiting the oldest teenagers.

This is just one way the Convention on the Rights of the Child works to make the world a better place for all kids!

No child deserves torture or cruelty! ⚖️

Did you know? Article 37 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child protects children from:
- Torture and cruel punishment
- Unfair arrest and detention
- Life imprisonment or the death penalty

Children in trouble with the law deserve fairness and rehabilitation, not harsh punishments that harm their future.

Let's work together to protect children's rights everywhere!

Today, we remember.

On this International Day of Reflection, we honor the memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Over 1 million people, Tutsi and those who opposed the killings, were systematically murdered in a horrific display of hatred and violence.

We reflect on the profound loss and the enduring strength of survivors. We recommit ourselves to learning from this dark chapter in history to prevent future genocides.

Here's how you can learn more and get involved:
- Visit the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect website: https://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/
- Explore the Kigali Genocide Memorial: https://kgm.rw/
- Share this post and use to raise awareness.

Together, let's work towards a world where such atrocities never happen again.
