Well done City of Athens, Alabama (Public Relations) for moving forward with the city demolishing process of burned unit at Bonnie Doone. This is a win for residents.

The City of Athens orders demolition of a burned apartment unit on Sanderfer Road, citing safety concerns for residents, as owner opts for proactive removal.

Help us fill our Shepherd’s Closet and support families in our community! Every item makes a difference and brings comfort to Limestone County families in need.

Currently we're in need of:
• Baby wipes & diapers (sizes 6 & 7)
• Toothbrushes (adult & child)
• Pull-ups (adult & child sizes)
• Boys & Girls clothing (various sizes)

Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8:30am - 4:30pm. If you’re able to give, your generosity is truly appreciated!

🗳️Yesterday, 6/16/26 was Primary Runoff Election Day!

👏🏾We recognize Athenians, Limestone Countians who made their way to the polls to make their voices heard. We commend them.

💪🏾🙏🏾We especially thank the few we transported to the polls. Most were disabled and elderly.

👏🏾🗳️We thank them all for understanding the value of the vote and for not letting anything stop them from doing their civic duty.
