The Master Gardeners of Athens County are a community service volunteer group that donates at least 20 hours of volunteer service and spends at least 10 hours of learning every year. Power, program planning, newsletter team, tours and field trips, along with our annual plant sale. You can join the Athens County Master Gardeners by participating in the New Master Gardener Class, which begins in late January every year. This Wednesday evening class has weekly online learning Modules and zoom meetings with current Master Gardeners, in addition to in-person labs throughout the 50-hour course. Master Gardeners learn about botany, soils, entomology, plant pathology, pollinators, wildlife, vegetables, ornamental plants, trees and houseplants.
