πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ MEMORIAL DAY REMINDER πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Please note that Atascadero City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day and will reopen with regular business hours on Tuesday, May 26.

For those wishing to pay tribute locally, the annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Faces of Freedom Memorial (HWY 41/Morro Road) beginning at 11 AM. Additional event information is available at www.visitatascadero.com/events.

As we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, may the patriotic banners now on display in Downtown Atascadero for the upcoming official U.S. 250th anniversary serve as a meaningful reminder of the enduring spirit, sacrifice, and history of our nation. β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

A piece of Atascadero history in the making πŸ“°βœ¨

The Printery has been part of our community since the very beginning... purchased by Mrs. Lewis in July 1913, it grew into the largest publishing facility west of the Mississippi, printing the Women's National Magazine, the Atascadero News, and The Illustrated Review.

After serving so many roles over the decades, an amazing group is now working to restore it into something meaningful for the community once again. Can't wait to see what's next for this iconic building.

"We're not building things like this anymore."

Sheila New on why saving the 1915 Printery matters β€” and what it'll mean for the kids whose schools sit blocks away. Indoor stage. Outdoor stage. A place to take a class, see a show, learn what a community can do when it decides something is worth saving.

That last part is the part that stays with us: children need to see what people in their community can do to save things.
