🚨🏀Volunteer Youth Basketball Coaches Needed!

The '26-'27 Atascadero Winter Youth Basketball League is right around the corner, and we're looking for coaches!

You don't have to be a basketball expert to make a difference. We're looking for dependable, positive individuals who are willing to teach and encourage our players to learn and love the game of basketball. Our Rec staff work right alongside our volunteer coaches to be sure they feel supported and assisted throughout the season. We also do our best to create a schedule that works well for all our coaches.

Whether you're an experienced coach or looking to join us for your first season, we'd love to have you!

⛹️‍♀️Coaches are needed for the following divisions:
3rd/4th Boys
5th/6th Boys
5th/6th Girls
7th/8th Boys

For more information on how to be a coach, call (805) 470-3360 or email [email protected]

💐MEET THE INSTRUCTOR!

Meet Teresa Sullenger, founder of Carmelita Studio. Teresa found 'home' when she and her husband moved to Atascadero. Teresa loves this town and started her business of floral and design in honor of the life she shared with him on Carmelita Avenue.

Committed to sustainable design practices, sourcing locally, with a love for tradition, and helping one another, Teresa welcomes you to her studio. "Let's design some fun stuff together!"

Join Teresa for 'twelve days of flowers" and celebrate the seasons with festive, hands-on floral design classes. Participants will create a variety of beautiful and unique designs, including a fun Trader Joe's redo, elegant orchid arrangements, wreaths, and charming holiday design. With start-to-finish instruction, you'll enjoy a fun, creative experience and take home a beautiful, finished project the same day.

🎃October classes will feature pumpkins, fall flowers, and Halloween- inspired designs.
🍂November sessions will highlight Thanksgiving themes and warm autumn colors.
❄️December will bring the beauty and joy of Christmas arrangements.

Enroll for one class for $77 or enroll in three for $200.
👉Three Class Discount applied for in person registration only at the Colony Park Community Center.

Atascadero Recreation is proud to partner with Teresa Sullenger to bring new and exciting artistic opportunities to our community!

✨Meet Our Team!✨

👋 Meet Recreation Staff, Dane Stover!

After growing up playing rec. sports and attending the Teen Center, Dane became an official for our Youth Basketball League. Now as Recreation Staff, Dane works primarily in the Teen Center, as a scorekeeper for our youth and adult sports leagues, and at our Special Events. Working in the Teen Center, Dane takes initiative to plan and orchestrate group activities for the kids, whether it be a game of dodgeball or an air hockey tournament. When working as a scorekeeper, Dane exercises his deep understanding for sports and uses his incredible attention to detail to produce accurate results. Dane has quickly become a key role model for our Teen Center members and we appreciate his quick thinking and proactive nature.

👥Favorite part of the job: Dane's favorite part of his job is being able to work for the community.
🏀Outside of work: Dane's favorite thing to do outside of work is play basketball.

We are grateful to have Dane on our team!
