Help us honor Nora.
Nora spent her days waiting outside apartment doors, hoping someone would notice her.
She had been dumped and was living inside an apartment building, relying on residents for food and a safe place to rest. Eventually, someone took her in, but they were unable to keep her permanently.
That’s when Astoria Cat Rescue stepped in.
We offered to cover Nora’s veterinary care and give her the chance at a safe, loving future.
During her scheduled veterinary care, the veterinary team discovered that Nora was in the early stages of pregnancy. Tragically, complications developed during her procedure, and Nora suffered internal bleeding. She was rushed to VEG Emergency Vet in Brooklyn for emergency treatment and intensive care.
Despite the efforts of the veterinary team, Nora passed away.
We wish her story had a different ending.
But we don’t want her story to end with her.
Our goal is to raise $3,000 to help replenish the funds spent on Nora’s care and strengthen Astoria Cat Rescue’s emergency medical fund.
Because somewhere right now, another cat may be waiting outside someone’s door.
Another cat may be hungry, sick, injured, pregnant, abandoned, or simply have nowhere else to go.
We want to be there.
A donation in Nora’s memory can help give another cat the chance that Nora deserved.
Please consider donating and sharing.

Nora’s life was far too short. Her story can still help save another cat.
