Our union is dedicated to protecting Bloomingdale’s employees’ right to the fair wages and benefits that allow them to support themselves and their families, and our members have always been very involved in our struggles.

Bloomingdale’s has announced that all locations will be open on Easter Sunday April 5,2026.

Workers at Bloomingdale’s 59th street are protected by the Union Contract, which allows workers to observe their religious holidays. Workers do not need to seek People Leaders approval to observe the Easter religious holiday.

For scheduling purposes:
Workers can opt to use either an unavailable day or a PTO day as one of their regular days off that week; or, can can opt to swap the shift; or, workers can request an unpaid day off with the understanding they will have one less workday for that week.

Requests should be submitted 4 weeks in advance as per the Union Contract.

Support workers should have conversations with their People Leaders.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King knew that civil rights and worker rights are deeply connected — that dignity on the job is fundamental to justice. “All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance.” Our union proudly carries that legacy forward.

This year let's once again show the strength & solidarity of New York City's workers. Because there is "Power In Unity". Please join your Local 3 United Storeworkers Leadership team for the 2025 Labor Day Parade. The Parade takes place on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The parade runs up 5th Avenue from 44th to 68th streets. Local 3 Members, their families and friends will meet at 1:00 PM on 47th street between 5th Madison Avenues. Grand Central Terminal is the closest transportation. Our group's march time is scheduled for 1:15 PM. Local 3 Union T-shirts and snacks will be provided. We look forward to marching with you, as we celebrate, workers, organized labor, unity and solidarity.
