Years ago, it would have been said that the only people who care about veterans are other veterans. This Veteran's Day, we are profoundly grateful to all of the friends, family, community members, advocates, and supporters who have worked so hard to prove that is not true. Thank you for standing with us and with all Veterans today and every day. And, to all of our fellow veterans and service members—thank you for refusing to give up. We are here with you. Semper Fi.

Twenty-one years ago, Lance Cpl. Travis J. Layfield took his last breath, defending our nations freedom.
He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed April 6 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Today — may we honor all those who have honored us with their service. Tomorrow — may we not forget them.
