Stalking, like domestic violence, follows predictable patterns and usually gets worse before it gets better.

People experiencing stalking report escalations in violence and threatening behavior following an attempt to separate from the abuser. Making a safety plan can help to keep you and your family safe when you're ready to leave.

If you or someone you know is experiencing stalking, call us at (503) 325-3457 for suport.

At The Harbor, we are dedicated to shining a light on the darkness of human trafficking, a grave issue that lurks in hidden corners of our communities. This month, we urge you to stay vigilant and informed about the signs that someone might be caught in this devastating situation:

🚷 Isolation: Individuals who seem cut off from friends and family.
🗣️ Lack of Autonomy: Those who do not seem to speak for themselves or are always accompanied by someone who speaks for them.
🤕 Physical Signs: Visible signs of physical abuse or unexplained injuries.
📄 Control Over Documents: Individuals who don't have possession of their own identification documents like passports.
⏳ Excessive Work Hours: People working unusually long hours or at odd times without the freedom to leave.
😟 Emotional Distress: Frequent signs of fear, anxiety, depression, or nervousness.
If you observe these signs, it's crucial to take action but do so safely. Do not intervene directly, as this may put you and the potential victim at greater risk. Instead, contact local authorities or organizations specialized in human trafficking intervention.

Your awareness can pave the way for rescue and recovery. Let’s stand together to protect our community and fight against human trafficking. If you suspect someone of being trafficked, call the Human Trafficking Hotline 1-888-373-7888, the police, or The Harbor.
