Everyday trucks deliver trees for processing, and this has been going on for a hundred years plus.
None of them are this big anymore. For the most part, these older trees are gone.
Now, trees are used for toothpicks, cardboard boxes, and pencils. Much of what we use is from trees, our houses, our firewood, our toilet paper. They were used for masts for the Royal Army long ago, and are shipped all over the world today.
We need to be more responsible, and let the remaining elder trees be given the admiration and respect they deserve. We need to let them live. They will be here long after we are gone.
New trees need to be planted, we are not planting enough, as forests everywhere are under attack from droughts, farming and grazing land development and diseases are continuing to decimate the tree populations.
We can restore the atmosphere, clean the water, and combat climate change, by planting more of the indigenous trees in our regions.
