The final picture. To know this era has reached its end is so bittersweet.
To those of you that don’t know, I’m alexis- I run our social media. So if you ever thought you were talking to Dave- nope it’s me! I remember when this yard started with 4 single pieces, to give me Christmas before I left for basic training, watching it grow into this massive display for literally thousands to walk through has been something I’ll never be able to explain. From meeting and watching littles grow, to developing friendships, to just being able to spend time with my dad and siblings along the years is incredible.
So many years we have been part of so many families holiday traditions, but it’s now time for us to really start creating our own and enjoying everyone else’s displays and time.
The yard is still open for a few more days (tonight the back yard is closed, only the front is on) most of our pieces are sold which is insane to know that they won’t be ours, but we’re so excited to see it somewhere else in the area. It’s such an honor to know people want a piece of our yard in theirs.
But I just wanted to say thank you, to my pop pop who definitely helped create my dad’s love of holiday lights, he would’ve loved to see this. My dad often says he wants to be seen from space, but truly I think he just wanted my pop pop in heaven to see it. Thank you to those who have volunteered their time of the years to work the gate, to build new items, to stringing lights- we always needed extra hands. Thank you to my dad for creating this and giving us all some amazing memories. Thank you to those who always came by and supported us. I don’t have enough words to explain the feelings i have knowing this is ending, and that it will just be a front yard no walk thru next year. Sad yet strangely peaceful.
We hope you guys get a chance to enjoy the yard the next few days. *back yard is closed 12/25/24*
I’ll end with this, if you believe in the spirit and the true meaning of Christmas- miracles will always happen.
