๐ Aston Valley Baseball Recognized by Aston Township ๐
Last night, our Aston Valley 12U District Chamipon Team was recognized by the Aston Township Board of Commissioners for their incredible district championship win and strong showing at the Pennsylvania State Tournament!
Weโd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Aston Township, the Commissioners, the township staff, and Public Works for all their ongoing support โ and especially to Commissioners Joe McGinn Jr. and Fred Prendergast for their dedication and partnership in helping make our league be such a terrific place for kids and families. We truly appreciate being invited to tonightโs meeting and celebrated by our community.
Below is a message from Head Coach Steve Burt, capturing what made this team so special:
โMost of these boys have been playing together since they were seven years old. Every summer, we entered tournament play with high expectations โ and every year, we came up just short.
But this year was different. The boys were focused, motivated, and determined to make the most of their last chance to win a district title.
We opened the tournament with a 7โ1 victory over last yearโs district champions, Unionville, followed by a 10โ0 win over Chichester and an 8โ0 semifinal win over BYC. In the championship game, the team defeated Nether Swarthmore 5โ1 to secure Aston Valleyโs first district championship in over 10 years!
These boys completely dominated the competition โ allowing only two runs in four games โ but more importantly, they represented Aston Valley with sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for one another and their opponents.
Their journey didnโt end there. The team went on to finish in the top four out of sixteen teams in the Pennsylvania State Tournament โ an incredible accomplishment that made their coaches, families, and community proud.โ
Congratulations again to our 12U District Champions on a season to remember โ and thank you to Aston Township for recognizing their hard work and commitment to excellence! โพ๐ช
