Enough about the FGs, moving onto more positive things. Today we spayed and neutered 18 Pana cats! They will mostly be returned. We have 4 kittens, 3 who we are still trying to grab who will be done at a later date from Orange St and Fairgrounds.
If we get the rest, which would make 25 total cats we trapped and altered, as well as two that received antibiotic injections for infections that otherwise would not have received medical attention, and potentially succumbed to their wounds. We saw two eye injuries.
18 feral cats were snuggled today for the first and last times that they likely will ever be snuggled.
7 are kittens who will be vetted and adopted out, no longer suffering on the streets.
$1660 that we paid today. Another $350-$560 expected when the kittens we did intakes on are altered and vetted. Total of $2010-$2220. What was raised? $1950 total was raised for the Pana TNVR day, majority of donations from people who don’t live there and just want to help feral cats.
Next time you see someone out trapping cats that tells you they’re doing TNR, give them a hug. Without them, these cats would continue to reproduce and suffer.
We were successful in trapping cats in these places:
County Market
Wells St
Orange St
First St
Birch St Trailer Park
Fairgrounds
A few others we tried and did not succeed or couldn’t get permission from homeowners to trap in time/ran out of daylight.
It takes so much work. But we love helping the animals who didn’t ask for any of this; and the amazing people who feed them, too.
HUGE shoutout to Dr Meghann Jerden. We love her dearly, she is a BOSS and is AMAZING at what she does. We are so grateful for her. High-volume spay and neuter is no joke, and she’s amazing at it while also practicing a high standard of medicine. We back that with our whole chests.
Thank you to Kyra & Bridget who are not pictured as well for being my right hand men today with records, surgery prep, and everything else they do! And huge thank you to Bridget, Katie, Faythe, and Gina for helping me trap yesterday.
AMAZING TEAM who does not take s**t from anyone. 🤘🏻 And as their leader, I won’t allow anyone to give them s**t either. It’s been a long few days of dealing with the most insane Facebook comments we’ve ever seen, even before yesterday while we just try to save lives. We will prevail.
Enjoy some photos! I made sure to capture my snuggles with lots of kitties today.
