Help Shear Advantage Make a Lasting Impact on Women and Minorities in Guatemala—Join Our Board of Directors!
At Shear Advantage, our mission is to teach primarily Guatemalan women essential cosmetology skills that foster financial independence, career development, and sustainable communities.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Aspen, Colorado, offering several hair-cutting and basic business-skills classes each year in Guatemala.
We are seeking passionate volunteers who believe in empowering women and strengthening communities in Guatemala to join our Board of Directors. While prior nonprofit board experience is valued, we also welcome individuals who bring a strong commitment to our mission, fresh perspectives, and a desire to make a meaningful impact.
We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in financial management, including Treasurer experience, or fundraising and development. However, passion for supporting women’s independence and opportunity is equally important.
We are a dedicated group of people who believe in giving back and who have fallen in love with the people of Guatemala. By teaching cosmetology and business skills, we help students pursue employment, support their families, and contribute to the growth of their communities.
