I had a question about how to politely address a priest in Polish. I thought you say Ojciec Dave. (Father Dave). Boy was I wrong!
I asked the question on the 'I love my Polish Heritage' page. Ten and counting people responded. Following is the most concise answer. Who Knew?

Ojciec is not used to address priests except in certain circumstances. If the priest is a part of a religious order, such as the Dominican or Franciscan Orders, then you will hear and see "ojciec" before their first name (e.g., ojciec Michał). All diocesan priests are referred to as ksiądz (ks. Wojciech for example - literally priest Albert) . Thus, the proszę księdza.
