Community Development Corporation has been a non-profit 501c3 organization since 1999. We are committed to providing food, clothing, household items, and other essential humanitarian assistance to people in the City of Ashtabula and throughout Ashtabula County. These services are administered in a family atmosphere of genuine Christian love and concern, preserving and uplifting the dignity of thos

Community Development Corporation, we are focused on providing many services with the highest levels of customer satisfaction – we will do everything we can to meet your expectations. Ashtabula County, named for a Native American word meaning, "river of many fish", is the north-eastern most county in the State of Ohio, bordering Lake Erie and the State of Pennsylvania. During the winter, Ashtabula County receives quite a lot of lake effect snow, but this also produces a favorable microclimate several miles inland for grape growers. Several wineries in that area are well-known throughout the region and compete with wines across the country. Community Development Corporation is located in the heart of the City of Ashtabula on the Station Ave. The U.S. Census Bureau has identified the immediate area we serve as having the highest poverty level of all of Ashtabula County. Many citizens are living below the poverty level which is almost double the national average of 12.4%. In today's weakened economy we have seen dramatic increases in the number of families needing assistance and believe those statistics to be more than true. Despite these economic conditions, in the past few years we have seen many positive changes to Ashtabula County. The new Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake draws many visitors to the area as does our 16 covered bridges including the longest in the country. New schools have been built in the City of Ashtabula, Jefferson, and Rock Creek. Our area mall has been remodeled and re-named to the Ashtabula Towne Square. It continues to host major retail stores like JC Penney, Kmart, Dunhams, and others. Down the street the Wal-Mart Super Center, Lowe's and Home Depot are busy shopping areas. We are a few blocks west of Lake Avenue and the Ashtabula County Medical Center, a Cleveland Clinic affiliate, along with other area doctor's offices. In 2008 The Spire Institute, a world-class 450,000 sq. ft. sports complex was built in Geneva -- the far west edge of Ashtabula County. This sports complex is a wonderful addition to what Ashtabula County has to offer. We believe G.O. Community Development Corporation plays a vital role in the favorable development of people and structures within this county.

Since Kays' New Adventure has begun- He has found himself joining a family that has showered him with love, encouragement and support! We’re excited to partner with the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League to host their Pet Food Pantry at G.O. Community Development Corporation so local residents can access pet food while visiting our regular pantry. Together, we’re making sure no family member—two-legged or four-legged—goes without.
