🧡 Calling all ginger kitty lovers! 🧡

We’re now accepting adoption applications for Spencer (female, top photos) and Keegan (male, bottom photos)!

These sweet orange fluffballs are currently thriving in foster care and will be ready for adoption on June 12.

Because they are in foster homes, they are not available for walk-in visits at the shelter. If you’re interested in meeting either kitten, please submit an adoption application through our website.

Spencer and Keegan love wand toys, cat trees, window perches, cozy beds, and, of course, plenty of pets and attention. They’re playful, affectionate, and ready to bring lots of joy, purrs, and orange-cat charm to their future families.

Meet Kassidy! 🐶🐾

Kassidy is a two year old akita and has been declared "best girl" by all of our staff. She is a well behaved and well mannered pup who is eager to be your one and only so that she can get all of the attention in the world. Kassidy is known for her zoomies and bunny hops around the shelter, and for all of her soft, huggable fluff. ❤

Sometimes, helping an animal in need means going to unexpected places…

This afternoon, a concerned community member contacted us after spotting a tiny kitten stranded on the beam supports of the Smolen-Gulf Covered Bridge. Knowing the situation was urgent, ACAPL team members Vinny and Catena quickly gathered supplies and headed to the scene.

When they arrived, they discovered just how precarious the situation was. Perched on the bridge supports above a 90-foot drop, the frightened kitten had very little room for error.

With patience, teamwork, and a healthy respect for gravity, they carefully worked to get the frightened little guy safely into a carrier while preventing him from slipping through the bridge slats below.

We’re happy to report that the rescue was successful, and the kitten is now safe and receiving care at the shelter. Judging by his demeanor, he’s pretty relieved to have all four paws firmly back on solid ground!

A huge thank you to the Good Samaritan who took the time to call. We’re grateful to the community members who look out for animals in need and to our dedicated staff who are always willing to go the extra mile when an unusual situation arises.

Foster is critical for kittens like Rumble. He’s a little grumbly because he hasn’t been properly socialized by humans yet. The socialization window for kittens is short — they need to learn to trust people to help them become adoptable, lovable pets 💗

Our 9-year-old senior pup, Samora, is hoping for her forever home. ♥️

Sweet Samora is our gentle giant. This is such a well behaved senior girl. So deserving of a comfy home, not the shelter life. She does well with commands, loves to carry around her toys- but does not destroy. It’s fun to watch her make her bed, she’s quite skilled with a pillow and blanket. She will be so happy in a home where she has the attention she so deserves, a home with no steps or minimal will be best for this lady. She is in no way demanding, but just look at those big sad eyes and you know she just wants to be loved. 🐾🐶♥️
