π THAT'S A WRAP, ASHLAND! π
Another Ashland Little League / Ashland Youth Baseball season is in the books, and what a ride it was β dropped popcorn, tough weather calls, at least one dugout snack negotiation that rivaled the UN, and more fist bumps than we could count.
We are NOT a perfect league. Our concession stand runs on caffeine and some very fabulous volunteers. The infield chalk lines have opinions of their own. And there's a toddler sibling in a vintage little league shirt who has attended more games than some of our players. But we showed up, we tried hard, and somewhere between the sunflower seeds and the extra innings, something pretty great happened.
So before we pack up the bases for the season, some serious thank yous:
π¨βπ©βπ§ To our PARENTS β for the folding chairs, the extra socks, the "just a few more hits" negotiations, and for cheering just as loud in the 6th inning of a blowout as the 1st. You are the real MVPs (Most Valuable Parkers, because that lot is TIGHT).
βΎ To our PLAYERS β you showed up, you swung big, you struck out and got back up, and you made every single game worth watching. Watching you grow this season was the whole point.
π§’ To our COACHES β for volunteering your evenings and weekends, for teaching more than baseball, and for somehow staying patient through 45 minutes of "can we do batting practice again." You're the backbone of this whole thing.
π€ To our SPONSORS β thank you for believing in this league and putting your name behind our kids. None of this happens without you - seriously it doesn't and you showed up big time!
π£ To our FANS β grandparents, neighbors, the guy who just wandered over from the purple park and stayed for three innings β thank you for the noise and the energy.
π§ To the SIBLINGS β who sat through games they didn't ask to watch, cheered anyway, and kept the peace (mostly) behind the bleachers and at the parkβ you're honorary team members too.
π And to every VOLUNTEER β the ones who raked the fields, ran the snack bar, coordinated schedules, and made this whole season run β we see you, and we appreciate you more than a thank-you post can really cover.
Ashland Little League and Ashland Youth Baseball have big dreams for next season. We'll keep trying, keep improving, and keep showing up for these kids β because that's what this is really about.
See you next season. Bring your own sunscreen. Or down parka. Because living here... you need both in a season. βοΈβΎ
