Hello friends!
We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their continued generosity and support of the Shed. Every item in the shed is donated from someone out of the kindness of their heart. It's amazing to see how generous the Ashland community is and how many people (an average of 40 a day) are being helped by that generosity!
We also want to ask, for those who take from the Shed, please PLEASE only take what you NEED for a day or two. While not the majority, we've had a few people come into the Shed and stock up like it was a Costco, and that just hurts other people who rely on the Shed for sustenance.
We understand that some people have big families to feed, and that's ok. But if a single person or a couple is taking more than a bag or two of items, that really hurts those who come after you.
We try our best to monitor things on our security camera, but because the Shed is hosted by volunteers and is open 24hrs a day, sometimes we can't respond in real time. We rely on the good-heartedness and gratitude of those who receive from the Shed to be responsible and care about those who come after them.
That being said, the Shed is still feeding hungry bellies and putting anxious hearts to rest! Let's keep working together to make sure the Sharing Shed remains a 24/hr, judgment-free asset to the Ashland community!
