Happy School Lunch Hero Day to all the humans that feed our kids and a special shout out to Brynn Richardson from David Douglas School District who has been recognized as one of 2026 Newman’s Own Foundation School Food Hero! 🍽️✨

Brynn is one of the team members in our current Farm to School Institute cohort and continually ensures that students have access to delicious and nutritious local foods. She goes the extra mile by allowing students to see their own food traditions on the menu by introducing foods like Taro Root Stir Fry and Kimchi in their Try It Tuesdays program.

Thank you Brynn for being such an integral part of Oregon’s Farm to School community and we are so excited to follow along as you progress in this space! 🍎 To view the full article, visit newmansown.org/news/school-lunch-heroes-2026

⚠️ URGENT: Oregon’s Farm to School Grants Need Your Voice by Feb 18th.

The Farm to School Equipment & Infrastructure Grant is facing a massive 61% budget cut from $500,000 to $193,000 for Oregon farmers and food makers that sell to schools. This will drastically impact farm to school programs across Oregon.

Email the Joint Natural Resources Subcommittee and urge them to reduce or eliminate this cut.

Go to oregonfarmtoschool.org/policy-advocacy for an email template and addresses of representatives.

Take 5 minutes to make your voice heard! 📣
