From move in to Candlelight Matriculation, yesterday was a day full of new beginnings as we welcomed the newest generation of Yellow Jackets to campus. We’re so grateful to have shared in the start of their RMC journey and to witness the beginning of a new tradition along the way. 🕯️

Professor Emeritus Joe Mattys leaves a lasting legacy as a teacher, director, mentor and advocate for students. Alongside his wife, Marilyn, he brought the beloved community production of A Christmas Carol to the Center of the Universe, creating a cherished holiday tradition for Yellow Jackets and Ashlanders alike.

Mattys spent 25 years at RMC, teaching, advising, supervising senior projects, and directing more than 50 mainstage productions, including the beloved “A Christmas Carol.”
