As we're approaching the midway point of 2026, I wish I could tell you that The Neighborhood was untouchable from the economic conditions of inflation, undefeated by dwindling state-grant opportunities, and unscathed by local sponsorships and partnerships; but the truth is much like the majority of nonprofit organizations we too have struggled this year.

Although our funding has been down the need for the services in our facility has been higher than before: Already in 2026 with over 7,000 meals served, 4,000 clothing items given, 300 monthly showers & hygiene kits distributed, and over two dozen local food pantries being supplied, and multiple lifeskill and career connecting classes being offered- we know that the efforts of our partnering agencies are reaching the at-risk and in-need and displaced citizens.

So now we are looking to build a stronger foundation: block-by-block neighbor-by-neighbor to make sure our facility can provide not only the essential items of stability but also the deeper connections toward opportunity and accountability that our clients need to move from where they are now to where they can arrive.

Thankful for the Youth Leadership Program of the Northeast Chamber of Commerce!
They raised canned foods and are distributing them among school resource centers and our food pantries.

We’d love to recommend a meal from Mackeys Pizza Pub TODAY! As 10% of today’s sales will go toward a fundraiser for The Neighborhood!
After this week’s crazy snow / ice and the damage it caused our facility- these funds will be utilized for cleanup, new ceiling tiles, and restoration.
