Last night at our meeting our history presentation we covered the last quarter of 1944 as a component of our ongoing WWII series.

Part Three: The War The Allies keep up the pressure on Germany as they push into the Hurtgen Forest, while the Soviets begin to probe East Prussia and drive into the Balkans. In the Pacific, the Americans launch their invasion of the Philippines, with the long promised return of General MacArthur

This Saturday, February 7th, at 11am, Chequamegon Veterans will have their annual Four Chaplains Remembrance program at the Chequamegon Veterans Center. The annual program celebrates the heroism and sacrifice of four US Army chaplains who died when their transport sank in the north Atlantic during World War II. Public is invited to join us.

Congratulations to the winners in this years Chequamegon Veterans Center chili cook off. Top winner was Keith Tveit, VFW Post 690 member. Runners up were Michelle D and Kiera D, both from Bad River Legion Auxiliary. Thanks to our volunteer community judges for their participation.
