Happy Final Friday, friends! Today is a bee-utiful day (and night!) to explore our downtown! (Did you think the bee puns were over yet? Of course not, because our Final Friday theme is Final Friday- It's Great to Bee Downtown!")

Not only are participating downtown stores open late tonight, but we have so many businesses with bonus fun, as well:
🐝Ashley's Candy & Nut Shoppe is open late, with adult milkshakes that can walk out with you;
🐝There is live music at The South Street Grille;
🐝Fig & Oak has honey specials;
🐝BLOOM nutrition & drink bar has GIANT fishbowls;
🐝Opal and Olive Boutique has a super summer sale;
🐝Holdfast Tattoocompany is having a tiny tat/piercing/permanent jewelry special;
and so much more! (Like, it's also a DORA Day today- your adult beverage can go with you as you buzz around downtown!)

Happy Sip & Spell Adult Spelling Bee Day! We are sooo excited to see you all tonight, sipping, and spelling and having a great time in our downtown! I have loved hearing about everyone's stories of past spelling bee triumphs and shortfalls! You are all subjugators in my book!

One other thing I have been hearing about town is many versions of, "I want to come spell, but I don't want to mess up in front of everyone."

You guys. Have we not said this is meant to be a fun event? With numerous lifelines?

Also, I've been really thinking about this. Have you ever played cards, or a board game, with other people? Sometimes you make a brilliant move, and sometimes, your move doesn't work out. Your friends still love you. Your family still invites you over for dinner. And if they do bring up "that time when you double faulted on that triple trump playing bridge in 1978", you can all laugh about what fun you had, in spite of that. Same thing here! Maybe you don't win a sweet trophy, but you got to hang with us, in downtown Ashland, which is a pretty good deal, if I do say so myself.

We're wrapping up August in a big way here in downtown Ashland! After our Sip & Spell Adult Spelling Bee on Thursday, we are hosting our monthly Final Friday- It's Great to Bee Downtown!" Join us downtown this Friday, August 28th, as our shops stay open late, with fun specials and cool stuff. You can continue to sip (and not spell), because Friday is also a DORA Day!

We have LOVED watching our friends at The Cooke Team, Realtors with Coldwell Banker Ward Real Estate share their Ashland Summer Bucket List with us these past few months. (If you haven't seen it yet, hop over to their page and check it out- it's an awesome snapshot of the things that make Ashland such a great place to live!)

This Bucket List item is a perfect one to highlight for this weekend, because downtown Ashland is the A+ place to do your back-to-school shopping! I know, I know; you have to have a red folder and a blue folder and a yellow folder, but outside of that, why not make this school year fun, and reflective of your kids' personal styles? Our friends (and members!) at Cartolina on Main, Fig & Oak, Madame Bagnabit, and Whoopsie Daisy Bowtique have all the pens, pencils, erasers, backpacks, and more that are teacher-approved, and cute as heck.

Make a day of it- come downtown and pick out the grooviest school supplies, round out your wardrobe with some sweet back-to-school fits, have lunch at one of our amazing restaurants, and have a last day of fun and freedom with your kiddos, before you send them off to fill their brains with state capitols and quadratic formulas!
