The Coal Country FOOLS would like to thank all of the firefighters who took time out of their weekend to come train with us.

We had three highly motivated groups that worked their tails off, and it makes us proud to be able to work alongside such dedicated people.

We would also like to thank our fellow FOOLS who set aside their own plans to pass along important skills, knowledge, and life lessons to the future of our fire service. You folks are truly top notch.

What a great weekend all around!

Class Spotlight: “Down and Dirty Fireground operations”

Firefighters will practice forcible entry, hose deployment/advancing/flowing, searching as a search team and off the handline. While operating with limited staffing. The course is skills and scenario based, physically demanding. Emphasizing proven, effective fireground techniques that improve safety efficiency, and real-world readiness.

PPE: Full Bunker gear and scba (spare cylinder suggested)

PreReqiusite: FF1 ( Jr.s with FF1 allowed)


Who are the Coal Country FOOLS:

The Coal Country Fraternal Order Of Leatherheads Society is an organization comprised of members from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia determined in keeping the traditions, firemanship skills and promoting/protecting the brotherhood/sisterhood in our calling as firefighters. In our training events we focus on real street skills that make firefighters good at what they do. We believe in simple concepts that drive us to be better and protect each other and our fire service heritage.

Concepts like:
DTRT (do the right thing),
FTM-PTB (for the members- protect the brotherhood),
EGH (everybody goes home),
RFB (remember fallen brothers),
KTF (keep the faith).
These drive us to be what is expected of us by our communities, departments, and families!
