Tim Morrison is from Oklahoma and grew up Southern Baptist with his parents serving heavily in the ministry. Tim attended Oklahoma Baptist University to pursue a degree in Theater and Church Administration. He came to The Salvation Army through an invitation from a friend and immediately fell in love with the mission and ministry taking place. He began working for the Army as a shelter monitor and was called to be an Officer through his work with the homeless. His passions include homeless outreach and disaster service. He was commissioned as an Officer in 2020, with the Messengers of the Kingdom session.
Roslyn Morrison is from Eastern North Carolina. From the time she was one week old her parents took her to The Salvation Army to attend church. Throughout her childhood she took part in all of the youth programs the Army had to offer, from Character Building to summer camp, and corps cadets to Music Conservatory. After a bout with serious sickness in her teenage years, she began to pursue education in the medical field hoping to help people dealing with similar issues. After completing her Bachelor in Science in Biology with a microbiology concentration, she began working for The Salvation Army at their Boys & Girls Club. Through this work she found peace and joy whenever she entered the building and realized that her calling was slightly different than she thought. Instead of helping people who were physically sick, she was meant to help the spiritually sick. She began working as a corps assistant and entered the training college in 2019. She was then commissioned as an Officer in 2021, with the Messengers of Grace session.
Tim and Roslyn Morrison have been married for 5 years and have two beautiful daughters, Cora, 20, from Tim’s previous marriage, and Maggie, 3, whom they fostered and adopted when they served in Louisiana. They met while at the training college/ seminary for officers. Tim was one year ahead of Roslyn and it was in their final weeks together at the school that they began their relationship. After maintaining a long distance relationship for one year, they got married on the very campus where they met and began their lives together. Their first appointment in Lake Charles Louisiana brought them a dog, Andi, and their wildflower Maggie. In Louisiana they had the opportunity to help the community rebuild following Hurricane Laura the year prior. This included rebuilding Army property. Through their efforts, they successfully rebuilt and reopened the emergency shelter in Lake Charles, the only one in the area. Following a three year appointment in Louisiana, their family moved to Memphis Tennessee to oversee the Memphis Purdue corps. This appointment was very unique in that it was housed within the Purdue Center of Hope, a shelter for women and children. Their focus over the last two years in Memphis was largely pastoral, bringing them back to the root of their calling, to preach the Gospel. From there, they were appointed to Ashland Kentucky to serve as the corps officers and administrators.
