Every August, for more than two decades, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival company and audience, the Rogue Valley Community, and people worldwide have come together for The Daedalus Project. This community of life-savers gathers annually for a week of celebration, song, dance, theatre and more, to raise money to end the spread of HIV/AIDS and to sup
port those who are living with the condition. The Daedalus Project has raised over 1.4 million dollars towards local, national and international HIV/AIDS care, prevention and awareness efforts. It is with urgency and creativity that we must all unite to end this plague. If we look at the AIDS crisis as a five act play, we are now entering the fifth act. The conversation has evolved from "Dying of AIDS" to "Living with AIDS." We are now participating in yet another radical shift, using language with the intention of "Ending AIDS". The theme for The Daedalus Project 2014 is “Act 5: THE END OF AIDS.” The time has come to drive to END THE PLAGUE. Past Recipients of Funds:
It is because of THE DAEDALUS PROJECT that we still have FREE HIV Testing in the Rogue Valley. It is because of THE DAEDALUS PROJECT that Alan's House was built in Medford, Oregon, which now houses individuals living with HIV/AIDS that would otherwise be homeless. It is because of THE DAEDALUS PROJECT that 94 students in rural Kenya, age 5-13, were given scholarships to attend the SCHAP School in Matoso.
