Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Inc. is a not for profit community mental health agency.

Appleseed walks with families and individuals on their journey to live healthy, whole, and productive lives by offering comprehensive and integrated behavioral health, housing, outreach & prevention, substance-use disorder, and victim services. Appleseed wishes to maximize an individual’s existing strengths, focus on solutions and create a supportive environment for people suffering from mental illness. This is in contrast to focusing on existing weaknesses, problems, and creating an environment not chosen by the individual. Appleseed strives to serve individuals in the least restrictive, most appropriate environment possible. Appleseed seeks to address the needs of all Ashland County residents, including the needs of the general public and the needs of people with severe mental disability, as identified both in the Ashland County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services’ community plan and through Appleseed’s needs assessment activities.

A special thank you to Opus II Dance Studio and its talented student dancers for sharing their beautiful performances with us and bringing another dimension of artistic expression to the evening! 💚

Throughout October, the Empty Chair Project will be displayed in front of Appleseed in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Each empty chair represents a woman from Ashland County whose life was lost to domestic violence. Their photos and stories remind us that behind every statistic is a person—a life, a family, a story, and a place in our community that can never truly be filled.

We invite our community to stop by throughout the month, take a moment to read their stories, and join us in remembering and honoring the lives of those we have lost.

May we remember their names, honor their lives, and continue working toward a future free from domestic violence.

This weekend, members of the Appleseed team joined our community for the annual Su***de Prevention & Awareness Walk hosted by the Ashland MHRB 💙

We were grateful to walk alongside community members and local partners to raise awareness, remember those we have lost, and remind those who may be struggling that they are not alone.

Conversations about su***de and mental health matter. By continuing to show up, speak openly, and connect people with support, we can help build a community where no one has to struggle alone.

Members of the Appleseed and Safe Haven teams joined United Way of Ashland County Ohio today for the kickoff of their annual fundraising campaign!

Safe Haven Program Director Rebecca Garcia was invited to speak about the importance of collaboration between community organizations and how working together helps us better respond to local needs, solve problems, and create a stronger community for everyone.
