By popular demand, here's a look at the trailer we created for our Freeform Radio project. Let us know what you think and if you'd like to help make it happen.
PS: if you don't know Steve Postell, he's part of Immediate Family, successors to the Wrecking Crew as THE studio musicians in LA who've played with everybody and keep on making the great music we love.

This is "Freeform Radio Documentary Trailer final" by James Pagliasotti on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

Do yourself a favor and listen to this song, which is so good I'd tout it even if the singer wasn't my nephew.

Elena Razlogova is a media historian in Montreal who is writing a book on the history of WFMU-FM, the longest-lived freeform radio station in the U.S. She shared part of her book with us and it's a great read at jamespagliasotti.substack.com or at https://www.radicalradio.media/copy-of-the-world-of-radio

My newsletter on Substack (jamespagliasotti.substack.com) is about our Freeform Radio project and two guys who have joined the effort to spread the word far and wide. One is Steve Postell, who is featured in the documentary The Immediate Family; the other is Hale Milgrim, who began his amazing career running Discount Records and eventually became President/CEO of Capitol Records. One cool part of working this project is the remarkable people we meet along the way.

Just for the sake of tradition, here's a couple of roses from the garden. I'd really rather talk about putting Native American tribes in charge of managing Federal Public Lands. It may sound far-fetched, but they are capable and it is doable. In fact, it's already happening in bits and pieces here and there. Read about the concept here: jamespagliasotti.substack.com at the Crazy Horse article and if you like it, help us spread the word!

Why don't we let Native Tribes in this country take over stewardship of Federal Lands? It would be a gesture of respect for their knowledge of living in the natural world. Many tribes have developed expertise in resource management under very difficult circumstances. They might well do a great job of managing our public lands - and they could hardly do worse than the agencies that have brought us overgrazed grasslands, combustible forests, and polluted waterways. Maybe just transition the lands they would manage a little at a time. Then compare the results. They were doing a pretty good job before the rest of us arrived. Forward it to your friends if you agree. jamespagliasotti.substack.com
