Meet Simon Kuhn, who recently met with conductor Michael Repper to discuss his world premiere piece, "Mythics," which the Ashland Symphony Orchestra will debut on October 17, 2026. A senior at Ashland High School, Kuhn is an accomplished bass and French horn player who participates in various ensembles throughout the district. His passion for composing and performing began at a young age and has continued throughout his high school career. Kuhn was selected for early entry into the Ohio Army National Guard and is currently enlisted as a Private. He plans to pursue a music degree to further his composing and performing, and intends to attend officer candidate school after graduating from university.

Symphony and Scream! features Gustav Holst's "Mars" from the Planets, "Danse macabre, op.40" by Camille Saint-Saëns, the World Premiere of "Mythics" by Simon Kuhn, movements from "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Modest Mussorgsky and Maurice Ravel, "Peer Gynt Suite" No.1 by Edvard Grieg, and "Symphony fantastique" by Hector Berlioz.

Preconcert talk begins at 6:50 p.m. in the Archer Auditorium.
