We did it folks! The bill passed through the Senate. This is a big success. We should make some noise to support it in the House.

More than eight hours into debate, party lawmakers appeared on track to deliver the political centerpiece of President Biden’s long-stalled economic agenda.

Take action now!

In a surprise turnaround, the budget resolution, formerly called the Build Back Better Act, is back on the table and it is full of climate provisions. Congress will soon be voting on the budget resolution, now referred to as the "Inflation Reduction Act". This bill will be the single largest piece of carbon dioxide reduction passed in the United States history, reducing emissions by an estimated 40% by 2030. This is great news!

Please call Senator Ron Wyden and Senator Jeff Merkley and ask that they support the budget resolution and its strong climate provisions.

Senator Jeff Merkley: 202-224-3753
Senator Ron Wyden: 202-224-5244

Please take action now! The Senate could vote on this bill with in the week!

Before the Inflation Reduction Act can become law, it's got to pass through the Senate. Does your Democratic Senate support it? Give them a call to make sure.

Climate Activists across the nation are writing the President to ask him to focus on climate policy in the budget reconciliation package. Russia has coal, natural gas and oil, but in Southern Oregon we have solar, wind, hydro and biomass. We need to ask that the President helps us put local energy companies first!

Switching to clean energy means we won’t have to import our energy from Putin’s regime ever again. Ask the President to make the switch using our email template here: cclusa.org/whitehouse

Southern Oregon Citizens’ Climate Lobby

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a non-profit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. We work within our community and our local members of Congress towards enacting a big, national solution to climate change. We work by building relationships and finding common ground.

In 2007 climate advocate Marshall Saunders founded the first chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby. The grassroots organization grew across America and eventually the world as communities banded together to do their part in solving the climate crisis.

In January 2013 the Southern Oregon Citizens’ Climate Lobby was formed by a group of local residents including National Park Ranger Brian Ettling. Over the years our local chapter has worked to build political will in Oregon District Two and provide a grassroots networks of outreach and education for the neighbors in our district. With the strength of our community we bring a unified voice to the legislation advocating for a political response to climate change.
