ACTC’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter would like to congratulate all of our 2025–2026 PTK graduates on their outstanding accomplishments!

Our recent spring ceremony highlighted several exceptional PTK student leaders, including Dillon Mills (PTK, SGA President, and Keynote Student Speaker), Samuel Caudill (PTK and Keynote Student Speaker), Seymouria Mitchell (PTK, AAA, and SSS), and Kyli Springer (PTK, SGA, and SSS). We are proud of their leadership, dedication, and contributions to the ACTC community, and we wish all of our graduates continued success in their future endeavors!

We are so happy to announce that Marshall University is now Direct Admit partners with PTK!

There is an upcoming transfer student event on Marshall’s campus this Monday, May 18 - This event is open to students who are interested in Marshall, as well as those who have already been admitted. Students who complete an application and bring their transcripts may be able to receive an on-the-spot admission decision. Items marked with an asterisk are available only to admitted students (which includes anyone admitted on site).

At the event, students will have the opportunity to:
• Get help completing a free application
• Get an on-the-spot preliminary admission decision
• Receive an on-site credit evaluation
• Take a personalized campus tour
• Enjoy complimentary coffee from Still Waters Coffee Shop
• Get FAFSA completion and financial aid assistance
• Set up their MyMU account*
• Complete the scholarship portal*
• Be entered for a chance to win a $500 scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year*
• Be entered for a chance to win one of two $25 Marshall Bookstore gift cards*
• Receive a Marshall sweatshirt if they commit to Marshall*

ACTC recently inducted several new members into the Tri-Alpha Honor Society for first-generation college students. PTK members Hunter Jackson and Myrtle Williams also did an outstanding job serving as student speakers during the ceremony. Please join us in congratulating all of these students on their achievements as they pave the way as the first generation of college graduates in their families!

Congratulations to PTK member Amber Sparks on recently graduating the Medical Assisting program, and also earning an AAS-Health Science Technology degree! Amber served as ACTC-PTK Chapter President for the 24/25 year and has been an excellent student and leader for our college. Congrats Amber!

ACTC-PTK Chapter Members Kyli Springer and Seymouria Mitchell have been named as the KCTCS Scholars for the 2025-2026 academic year! Thirty-two students, two from each of the 16 colleges, were selected by KCTCS for this prestigious recognition. Students were chosen based on a rigorous process that focuses on academic performance and community service.

Both Kyli and Seymouria have made amazing contributions to our PTK chapter, college, and community. Congrats on your hard work and excellence in leadership! We are proud to call you one of our own :)

Big news for Ashland Community & Technical College! 🎉

Our very own Peer Leader, Kyli Springer, has been elected Regional President of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in Kentucky, representing community college students across the state! From leading ACTC’s PTK chapter to stepping into a statewide leadership role, Kyli is turning growth, courage, and dedication into impact.

We can’t wait to see how she continues to inspire others and champion student success across Kentucky!

The ACTC-Phi Theta Kappa honor society Alpha Omega Gamma chapter is hosting our annual induction ceremony for members joined in the 25/26 academic year this Friday, May 1 at 5:45pm at the College Drive Campus in downtown, Ashland - We are pleased to announce we are inducting 68 new members to our chapter, and will be hosting a special guest speaker at our ceremony, Seymouria Mitchell, ACTC student, PTK Member and upcoming Associate in Arts graduate.

The ACTC-Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society had a great time attending the recent KY region fall conference in Louisville this past weekend! The theme was “Following In The Steps Of Greatness,” and celebrated the legacy of Mohammed Ali. Students enjoyed fellowship, fun games and a visit from one of our international officers at Jefferson Community and Technical College, then enjoyed an immersive campus visit at the beautiful Bellarmine University. Thank you to the PTK KY region for hosting an amazing event for us!
