The Porter Tunnel Mine Disaster March 1, 1977

On this day take a moment to remember the following anthracite miners who were lost at the Kocher Coal Mine disaster 49 years ago.

Ronald Adley, 37, Tower City, was trapped above and rescued after five days. He was the only survivor.
