Meet R***r 🖤

R***r is a handsome, intelligent boy who has really started to show us who he truly is. At first, his intense personality and barrier reactivity toward certain dogs made us cautious, but as he’s settled in, we’ve seen a completely different side of him emerge.

R***r has done wonderfully with several dogs in playgroups, Watching him play for the first time was such a rewarding moment! Even when another dog got overly excited around treats, R***r stood his ground appropriately and did not react negatively. He seems to thrive once he knows and trusts his “pack.”

He is great with people, walks well on leash, and is very food motivated he’ll happily come inside for a treat after yard time. R***r would do best with proper introductions and continued structure.

R***r is around a year old and 45lbs is looking for someone who understands that some dogs just need time, trust, and consistency to shine. Underneath his tough exterior is a loyal, smart, and really special dog ready for his chance at a forever home!

Mochiko thought he was finally going home that day. 💔

Back in October, sweet Mochiko sat at the shelter dressed and ready to leave with a potential adopter… only to watch them walk away without him. After months of being overlooked, the shelter stress had completely broken his spirit. He was shutting down, self harming from anxiety, and running out of time.
Then ✨Cane-9 Rescue & Sanctuary ✨ stepped in and saved his life.

Since rescue, Mochiko shared a room with his best buddy Bumble — another dog saved from the very same shelter. The two boys became inseparable. They waited side-by-side for their second chances, keeping each other company through long days in boarding. 🥺
Yesterday, Bumble got adopted. 🎉🐝
And while we are SO happy for him, Mochiko watched his best friend leave without him.

Now it’s Mochiko’s turn. 🤍
Mochiko is around 5 years old, about 60-67 lbs, dog friendly, and the definition of a giant baby. He has the cutest wrinkly face, gives the sweetest kisses, and truly just wants someone to love him.
After everything he’s been through, Mochiko still believes his person is out there.

After undergoing an emergency splenectomy, my foster Lolipop sadly passed away despite everyone fighting so hard to save her. Cane-9 Rescue & Sanctuary is now left with Lolipop’s outstanding $620 emergency vet bill.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas — especially our girl, Cupcake. 💐🩷

Cupcake was found by animal control while heavily pregnant, scared, and alone. Shortly after arriving at Clayton County Animal Control, she gave birth to 6 beautiful puppies. When this little family was given a euthanasia deadline, we knew we couldn’t let their story end there.

So we stepped in and rescued them. ✨

Thanks to her incredible foster, Emily, Cupcake safely raised her babies in a loving home. The puppies are now weaned, thriving, and Mama Cupcake is finally getting her chance to just be a dog again. 🥹

And she is truly SO special:
🩷 Gentle and affectionate
🩷 Great with kids
🩷 Dog friendly
🩷 Full of love, personality, and goofy smiles

After everything she’s been through, Cupcake deserves a forever family of her own.

Hi… I’m Orchid 🌸
I’m finally out of boarding and settling into a foster home… and my foster mom says I’m such a sweet girl 💗
I can be a little shy at first. Sudden movements still scare me sometimes 🥺 but once I realize you’re safe, I just want love. I met some new people yesterday and after a few sniffs… I rolled right over for belly rubs.
I’m learning the world isn’t so scary after all.
Here’s what my foster has learned about me:
✨ Perfectly potty trained
✨ Loves to play fetch
✨ Great in the car
✨ Friendly and affectionate with people
✨ Interested in playing with other dogs
✨ Sweet, gentle, and eager to please
Big crowds can overwhelm me a little, so I’d probably thrive in a calmer home where I can keep building confidence and feeling safe.
I may be timid at first… but I have the softest heart and so much love to give. I just need someone willing to give me the chance to fully blossom 🌸

HAPPY TAILS FOR YOSHI 🤍🐺
Just days ago, we were urgently pleading for someone to save Yoshi from euthanasia at Clayton County Animal Control. This sweet, gentle husky had a deadline on his life… and we were terrified time would run out.
But then something beautiful happened. ✨
An amazing family from Alabama saw Yoshi’s story and stepped up to give him the forever home he deserved. They committed to adopting him and welcoming him into their family with open arms and so much love.
Yesterday, our incredible volunteer transporter made the drive to Alabama so Yoshi could finally go HOME. 🥹🚗
Yoshi now has a little human brother, cat siblings he’ll meet soon through slow introductions, and a family already completely in love with him. From euthanasia list… to family dog. The transformation is unbelievable.
This is why networking matters.
This is why sharing matters.
This is why fosters, adopters, transporters, and every single person who comments, shares, pledges, and advocates matter.

Last Christmas, my whole world changed. 🎄💔
I showed up at the shelter wearing my little Christmas collar… confused, scared, and wondering why I no longer had a home. While everyone else was celebrating the holidays, I was spending mine in the shelter system. I waited and waited, hoping someone would choose me. Then ✨Cane-9 Rescue & Sanctuary stepped in and gave me a second chance.

Hi, I’m Bumble. 🐝
I’m just 1 year old, around 48 lbs, and everyone says I’m the perfect mix of goofy, smart, loving, and loyal. The rescue says I’ve been SUCH a good boy, and honestly… I’m trying really hard to prove I deserve forever this time.

Here’s what they’ve learned about me so far:
🐾 100% potty trained
🐾 Crate trained and sleep through the night without a peep
🐾 Great with kids
🐾 Dog 🐶AND cat 🐱friendly
🐾 Non-destructive when left alone
🐾 Loves toys but doesn’t destroy them
🐾 Takes treats gently
🐾 Walks nicely on leash
🐾 Knows “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “come,” and “paw”
🐾 Basically just a very happy little guy who wants love

The rescue thinks I’m probably an Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler mixed with maybe some White Lab. Which means I’m SMART smart. Like… “watching everything you do” smart. I’m a young working breed dog, so I need a home that understands heelers and gives me structure, patience, and outlets for my brain.

I do have some herding tendencies — one time a maintenance worker came into the house and I tried to herd him right back out. 😅 But honestly, that’s pretty common for cattle dogs. We’re loyal, intelligent, sensitive dogs who were bred to work closely with our people. I just need a home that understands my breed and is willing to guide me while helping me feel secure.
And once I trust you? Oh, I’m YOUR dog. ❤️

At the rescue, I even have a best friend Mochiko —we came from the same shelter and now we’re roommates who share a guest room together 🐶🐶

I know my perfect family is out there somewhere. Someone who sees my big heart, my goofy smile, my intelligence, and my loyalty… and understands that working dogs like me don’t just want a home — we want a purpose, a routine, and a person to love forever.

I spent last Christmas abandoned in a shelter.
Can this year finally be the start of my forever? 🎄🐾
