🏅❤️ Area 29 is Heading to the USA Games❤️🏅

Today, our incredible athletes are taking the national stage at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota! 🇺🇸

What an honor it is to represent Tennessee, Area 29, our schools, our families, and our community on one of the biggest stages in Special Olympics. These athletes have trained, persevered, and worked tirelessly to earn this opportunity, and we could not be more proud.

As they walk into the Opening Ceremony tonight, they carry with them the support of an entire community cheering them on every step of the way. Their courage, determination, sportsmanship, and joy remind us what Special Olympics is all about.

📺 Be sure to tune in to the Opening Ceremony tonight at 6:30 PM CST on ESPN+/Disney+ and watch Team Tennessee make their grand entrance!

Let’s flood the comments with good luck wishes for our Area 29 athletes! 🎉

💙 We believe in you.
❤️ We are proud of you.
🤍 We are cheering for you.

Go Team Tennessee! Go Area 29! 🍀🏅🇺🇸

Today was nothing short of AMAZING for Special Olympics Area 29!

We brought together 6 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, and multiple adult athletes—and the energy, support, and love could be felt all day long. This is what inclusion looks like!

A HUGE thank you to Harpeth Middle School and Harpeth High School for hosting us, along with 25 incredible HMS student volunteers who showed up and worked hard all day to support our athletes. You made a difference!

We are so grateful for our sponsors E&E Towing & Recoveryand Dougs Auto Sales your support truly makes days like this possible.

Thank you VFW Volunteers for helping with awards!

Thank you to the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Officers for always showing up and supporting our athletes and community.

A special thank you to Special Olympics Tennessee for bringing Healthy Athletes and the Train for Life fitness station—providing athletes with opportunities to learn, grow, and stay healthy in such a fun and meaningful way. Programs like Healthy Athletes offer free health screenings and education that help athletes thrive both on and off the field.

We also want to thank the HHS HOSA Club for helping run Healthy Athletes and taking such great care of our athletes throughout the day!

We had the honor of recognizing some truly outstanding individuals and supporters this year:

🏅 James Nelson – Partner of the Year
🏅 Sam Baker – Athlete of the Year
🏅 Cheatham County School District– Sponsor of the Year
🏅 Lindsay Greece– Coach of the Year
🏅 Bill Clark – Volunteer of the Year

We also want to give a very special and heartfelt recognition to the late Nikki Gersman, a longtime volunteer who gave so much of her life to Special Olympics. Her impact will never be forgotten. We were honored to present this award to her husband, Justin, in recognition of her years of service and dedication.

Days like today remind us why we do what we do—the smiles, the victories, the teamwork, and the joy that fills every moment.

Thank you to all the parents, teachers, volunteers, and supporters who pour into these athletes. We couldn’t do it without you.

Today we had 40 participants at our Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Area 29!

We are so thankful for each and every person who came out to support us. Your presence means more than you know—not just for today, but for the athletes we serve all year long.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is all about raising awareness and support for Special Olympics and celebrating inclusion in our communities. Because of you, that mission continues to grow stronger.

Thank you for showing up, supporting our athletes, and helping us spread the message of inclusion.

What an incredible night at Tip-A-Cop! 💙🚔

Tonight at Riverview Restaurant, our community showed up BIG for a cause that means so much to us — and together, we raised over $2,000 for Special Olympics! 🙌

For those who may not know, Tip-A-Cop is a special event where our amazing law enforcement officers step in to serve tables, and every tip goes directly to support Special Olympics athletes. How cool is that?!

We are so thankful for:
💙 Every person who came out and supported
💙 Riverview Restaurant for hosting and loving our athletes so well
💙 The officers who gave their time, energy, and hearts tonight
💙 Our incredible athletes who are the reason behind it all

Nights like this remind us what community is all about — showing up, giving back, and choosing inclusion every single time.
