Learn where you live...

The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association is gearing up for a special two weeks of outreach!

Through age-appropriate presentations, activities, and historical discussions, we hope to introduce our youngest citizens to the history of Cheatham County, Tennessee, and America.

As we celebrate Cheatham County’s 170th anniversary, Tennessee’s 230th anniversary, and America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, there is no better time to inspire a love of history in the next generation.

We hope they learn something new, have fun, and develop an appreciation for the people, places, and events that helped shape the world they live in today.

Happy Birthday US Army!

🇺🇸 Happy 251st Birthday, United States Army! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate 251 years of the United States Army and the men and women who have answered the call to serve since 1775.

This isn’t a stock photo—it’s one of Mike’s personal photos from his time serving. Even more special, the American flag flying from that Black Hawk is a flag we still have with us today.

It’s a reminder that the Army’s story isn’t just history in a book. It’s made up of real people, real sacrifices, and a commitment to something greater than themselves.

To every Soldier who has served, is serving, or will serve in the future: thank you for your courage, dedication, and sacrifice.
