Meet Sparky Clark, SCAMP’s beloved ā€˜fospice’ dog.

At 14 years old, Sparky Clark has been living with his incredible foster family for just over a year. He isn’t available for adoption because the goal of our fospice program isn’t to find these pets new homes—it’s to give them the comfort, stability, and dignity they deserve for whatever time they have left.

Sparky C lives with a heart condition and seizures, requiring regular veterinary care and multiple daily medications, including phenobarbital, keppra, furosemide, and pimobendan. SCAMP covers the cost of his vet visits and medications so his foster family can focus on what matters most: loving him.

Because of your support, Sparky Clark doesn’t have to spend his golden years in a shelter. He gets to enjoy soft beds, familiar faces, belly rubs, treats, and the comfort of a family who loves him unconditionally.

Your donations make it possible for dogs like Sparky Clark to spend their final chapter surrounded by compassion instead of uncertainty. Every contribution helps provide medical care, comfort, and love to animals who need it most.

Thank you for giving dogs like Sparky Clark the dignity they deserve.

Just a short time ago, Drax was living with a painful eye that couldn’t be saved. Thanks to the generosity of SCAMP supporters, he received the enucleation surgery he desperately needed, and today he’s recovering beautifully.

While financial donations make lifesaving medical care like Drax’s surgery possible, not every contribution comes with a dollar sign.

Drax’s foster has been there every step of the way, making sure he stays comfortable, feels safe, and gets plenty of love while he heals. In their words:

ā€œDrax is a wonderful kitten, a real snuggle bug, that wants nothing more than to be in your arms.ā€ ā¤ļø

That kind of care can’t be purchased. It comes from people willing to open their homes and hearts to animals who need a soft place to land.

Because of your donations, Drax is pain-free. Because of his foster, he’s learning what it feels like to be loved. Together, those gifts are giving him exactly what every kitten deserves: a second chance and a bright future.

Whether you donate, foster, volunteer, or simply share our posts, you’re part of stories like Drax’s. Thank you for helping kittens like this sweet little guy find their way home.

🐾 Look at Carl now!

Just last week, Carl underwent life-changing surgery after suffering a severe spiral fracture to his femur. The injury was so extensive that amputation was the best option to eliminate his pain and give him the chance to truly thrive.

Today, Carl is already up and moving on three legs—and proving what we already knew: cats are incredibly resilient.

Tripod cats adapt remarkably well. They run, jump, play, climb, and enjoy life just like any other cat. Thanks to his surgery, Carl isn’t defined by his injury. Instead, he has the opportunity to heal, regain his confidence, and one day find the loving home he deserves.

None of this would have been possible without your generosity. Every donation helped make Carl’s surgery a reality, transforming what could have been a devastating injury into a second chance at a full, happy life.

Carl’s story is exactly why SCAMP exists. Your support doesn’t just pay for procedures—it gives animals the medical care they need to recover, become adoptable, and live the lives they were always meant to have.

As Carl continues to heal, we’re already preparing to help the next animal in need. With your continued support, we can say ā€œyesā€ to more life-saving surgeries, more second chances, and more happy endings just like Carl’s.

Carl will be available for adoption in a few weeks once he is fully recovered. Thank you for giving Carl the future he deserves.

šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļø Cyclops Week – Day 2: Meet Drax! šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļø

Yesterday, you met Monocle and learned how one-eyed kittens can go on to live happy, playful, completely normal lives. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Drax—a sweet orange kitten who’s about to earn his pirate stripes.

Unlike Monocle, Drax is still waiting for the surgery that will change his life. After developing a severe eye infection, one of his eyes became too damaged to save. His enucleation surgery is scheduled for July 30, and SCAMP is fundraising to help cover the cost.

Cats adapt amazingly well to life with one eye. Once they’re free from the pain of a damaged eye, they can run, jump, climb, play, and snuggle just like any other kitten.

For Drax, this surgery isn’t about losing an eye—it’s about gaining a future. We’re asking for your help to complete Drax’s pirate transformation.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide the specialized veterinary care that gives kittens like Drax the opportunity to heal, thrive, and find the loving forever homes they deserve.

šŸ‘ļø Welcome to SCAMP’s first ever Cyclops Week! šŸ‘ļø

We’re kicking off a special week dedicated to some of the toughest little kittens you’ll ever meet—our one-eyed wonders.

Meet Monocle, the first star of Cyclops Week. Like so many kittens who come into the shelter, Monocle suffered from a severe eye infection that couldn’t be treated with medication alone. The kindest and safest option was enucleation surgery to remove the painful, damaged eye.

Cats adapt incredibly well to life with one eye. They run, jump, play, climb, and cuddle just like any other kitten. Most people who meet them quickly forget they only have one eye at all!

Thanks to SCAMP supporters, Monocle received the surgery he desperately needed and is now one step closer to finding a loving forever home.

Throughout Cyclops Week, we’ll introduce you to some amazing kittens who have already received life-changing eye surgeries thanks to your generosity. We’ll also ask for your help to change the future for one more kitten who is scheduled for surgery on July 30.

Every donation helps us say ā€œyesā€ when a kitten is suffering and needs specialized veterinary care. Together, we’re not just saving eyes—we’re relieving pain, restoring comfort, and are giving these incredible kittens the chance to be adopted into families who will love them exactly as they are.

Happy Cyclops Week!!!

Meet Herschel. ā¤ļø

When this sweet 5-year-old arrived at the shelter, it was obvious he wasn’t feeling well. A veterinary exam revealed a heart murmur, but that was only the beginning of his journey.

Thanks to SCAMP supporters, Herschel received an echocardiogram that diagnosed him with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), the most common form of heart disease in cats. While HCM can’t be cured, it can often be successfully managed with proper monitoring and medication, allowing many cats to enjoy happy, comfortable lives. We’re pleased to share that Herschel does not currently need medication for his HCM.

As the veterinary team continued searching for answers, Herschel was also diagnosed with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)—a disease that was once considered almost always fatal. Today, thanks to advances in treatment, FIP is highly treatable when caught early, giving cats like Herschel a real chance at a healthy future.

SCAMP stepped in to cover the cost of Herschel’s specialized care, including his echocardiogram, diagnostic testing, and full 84-day FIP treatment—amounting to $1,000 in lifesaving veterinary expenses.

Today, Herschel has completed treatment, is feeling fantastic, and is finally ready to find the loving forever home he’s been waiting for.

Your support made every step of Herschel’s recovery possible. From finding the answers he needed to providing the treatment that saved his life, you gave Herschel the opportunity to heal—and now he has the chance to spend the rest of his life with a family who will love him.
