WHO IS IN YOUR CORNER?
Think back to when you were a teenager.
Who was the adult you could talk to?
The one who noticed when something wasn’t right.
The one who encouraged you when you doubted yourself.
The one who believed in you before you completely believed in yourself.
Maybe it was a parent.
Maybe a teacher.
A coach.
A neighbor.
A grandparent.
A youth leader.
A boss.
Maybe it was someone who simply decided to keep showing up.
Now ask yourself:
Does every young person in Buncombe County have someone like that?
After Hurricane Helene, we’ve talked a lot about rebuilding roads, homes, schools and infrastructure.
But young people need rebuilding, too.
They need connection.
They need belonging.
They need meaningful relationships.
And they need adults who see them.
Who is in your young person’s corner?
And if the answer is “I’m not sure”…
maybe that’s where our community can begin.
