All of us at I Am a Gem Foundation want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who supported our incredible mission trip to the Dominican Republic! What an unforgettable week of ministry, service, and God’s faithfulness. Throughout the week, we welcomed 335 children into our camps—70 on Monday, 100 on Tuesday, 55 on Wednesday, and 110 on Thursday. Each day was filled with energy, laughter, learning, and the joy of sharing God’s love with every child who came into our lives. In the afternoons, our team had the privilege of serving in powerful and meaningful ways across the community. On Monday, we visited a nursing home. On Tuesday, we served at Josiah’s House, a home for children. On Wednesday and Thursday, we partnered with two different community centers, where we were blessed to connect with families and encourage the people we met. Everywhere we went, God opened doors and gave us opportunities to love, serve, and point people to Him. One of the most exciting highlights of the trip came on Wednesday evening, when we were invited to share the Gospel with the Miami Marlins professional academy in the Dominican Republic. What a blessing it was to speak into the lives of those young athletes—and then, on Thursday, to watch many of those same players compete on the field. We came home with full hearts, grateful for every person we encountered, every opportunity to serve, and every moment God used to make His love known. Thank you again to everyone who prayed, gave, encouraged, and helped make this mission trip possible!

The I Am a Gem Golf Tournament, proudly presented by title sponsor The Palmer Group, was a tremendous success at Cummings Cove Golf Course. More than 80 golfers came together for an outstanding day of friendly competition, community connection, and celebration. Guests enjoyed the chance to compete for an exciting lineup of prizes—including a car, TV, range finder, and grill—made possible through the generous support of Fred Anderson Toyota. Congratulations to Michael Mullman, winner of Closest to the Pin, and Matt Harner, winner of Longest Drive. We also celebrate our flight champions: Tim Bryant, Michael Hicks, Tyler Pressley, and Phil Woody in the 3rd Flight; Cameron Crowder, Jim Crowder, Darin Chaplain, and John Dyer in the 2nd Flight; and Kevin McCormick, Michael Mullman, Michelle Mullman, and Dr. Keith Black in the 1st Flight!

The I Am a Gem Foundation invites the Western North Carolina community—particularly former Montreat College Baseball players and alumni from 1992–2004, as well as former Diamond Mine players and their families—to participate in the 2026 Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser. Proceeds will support the Foundation’s mission trip to the Dominican Republic. The event will feature a four-person captain’s choice format with prizes awarded.
