This past weekend, we graduated yet another cohort of SC4S doulas! This cohort completed a rigorous 10 week training program, and are now ready to take the birth world by storm, advocating and supporting birthing people in their communities. Most importantly, these women did the 💜 Heart Work 💜 that is necessary to become truly great support people. That looked like breaking down biases, meeting comfort edges, and getting real about systemic barriers to care in the birth world, and learning how to address them in culturally competent, humble ways.
These doulas will be part of our “rural expansion” project, where we are bringing doula services to families in Madison, Mitchell, McDowell, Avery, and Yancey counties! We couldn’t be more grateful for all their hard work. A special shout-out to our amazing trainers who walked with these ladies every step of the way to the finish line. Let’s hear it for these graduates, y’all! 👏🏽🎓🎈✨
