Dear Friends and Supporters,
We regret to inform you that the annual fundraiser CiderFest NC hosted by the nonprofit Green Built Alliance has been canceled indefinitely.
After 8 years of successfully organizing and hosting CiderFest NC as our major annual fundraiser, we at Green Built Alliance have decided to not continue to hold CiderFest NC any longer. During our 8th year of running the festival, we ran into many challenges and feedback that gave us clarity that the festival was no longer aligned with our mission or a valuable use of our staff's limited time and resources.
This was not an easy decision for us at Green Built Alliance and we are so incredibly grateful for everyone who attended and supported all these years. We want to give a special shout out to all our event sponsors and all the local cider makers that have made CiderFest NC successful throughout the years. We understand that this announcement will come as a great disappointment for many of you.
Any local event with a similar name to CiderFest NC is NOT endorsed by Green Built Alliance and we cannot speak to the quality of that event.
This year, our nonprofit wrote a collaborative strategic plan that moves us in a direction that focuses on aligning our fundraising efforts with our mission and vision. We are happy to be shifting our time and energy to other fundraisers and events that help advance sustainable living, green building, and climate justice, such as our annual Earth Day 5K event in the spring.
