Another great Wednesday
out in Bat Cave with the
Bat Cave Disaster Relief
crew of fellow volunteers

where Lynn and Co made
an awesome meal always
surprising me with what
they fit in each package

filling voids and bellies
left behind out here with
conversation along the way

whereas our needs are
endless for a few hours
one day a week I know

where all is right with the world

I’m thankful to be a part

Hey Appalachia,

It's Mondee and hot as the dickens
okay not really I still need a jacket
til at least ten o'clock am minimum

but it was warm and sticky my hair
being exhibits A all the way thru Z
farm days and farm court wear me

out but not all the way down,

🍝🛻 Tuesday will be for cooking
and delivery to some scattered folks

🦇🪺 Wednesday I'll serve lunch in lil
Bat Cave while delivering eggs on
the south side to AVL afterwards

🌳🌱 Thursday is farm and forest

👚🍼 Friday is a supply giveaway in Ingles
parking lot (Swannanoa, TBA) as I really need to make room in the home and mobile hubs.***

Off to wash the sap outta this head — then l'll be switching gears to writing for the night. My messenger has withheld DMs from view so I'm fumbling through the business page reinstall.

If you’re familiar with the Bat Cave area you might know Miss Joan.

The moment we met was caught on camera and I couldn’t be more appreciative of MountainTrue for this. In a short time we’ve become very dear friends who discuss art, dance, film, life and love.

Miss Joan says I bring back her memories.

There is no greater honor than hearing that.

Yesterday she was upset with me because she tried calling 3x while I was out of service, and “a man had been answering my phone.”

Joan has nearly no vision outside of outlines and had written a perfect note for me to understand exactly what had happened when I arrived for our Wednesday date.
She did not like the man on the phone.

This note was sitting on the table in my seat, in the exact handwriting as my late Nanny, becoming the best thing I’ve seen in ages. I will frame her.

Check on your elders. Neighbors. Folks who live alone. My hope for you is that they’re half as hilarious as mine, but precious nonetheless.
